“We started by visiting the gallery and were very impressed with Denis’ photos and the three outstanding books on Kauai. We then took a five-hour photo tour with Denis. The tour was outstanding. Denis took us to photo-op places no one else knows about and in the process, taught us how to really use and enjoy our cameras. Denis designs each tour to meet his guests needs and for us it was the high point of our Kauai visit.”

“My wife and I were staying at the Marriott Kauai Beach Resort and I met Denis in his studio early one morning. His photos are really terrific and we found out he did tours as well. We booked him for a five hour personal tour and chose to go to Waimea and back.

We were lucky enough to find the morning clear and cool. Picture opportunities were fantastic. He knew where to go first before the cruise ship busses came. He took photos of us and pointed out several unique vantage points for Waimea, Hanapepe, and several other unique spots along our way back to Lihue.

His knowledge of the area and it’s history is vast. Next time we are on the island we will certainly try to schedule him for a tour around the other side of the island. He is a true gentleman and enthusiastic about what he does. I highly recommend him!! “ -Davidel57

“I have been away from doing much with my SLR while caring for mom the past 6-7 years and needed to brush up and be reminded of some of the technical aspects of my camera and lenses. Denis was fantastic – patient, detailed, knowledgeable, helpful, and gave me personalized help on a sunrise tour. “Dennis is a pro, who is able to give you suggestions/advice on the technical aspects of setting up your shots, if that is what you want him to do (and I did). What was amazing for me as well was to go to places that I’d not been to before, and I’ve been here many times. He gave history and interesting information that I didn’t know. I did the East side tour up to Hanalei. He also has several others and tours that you can request. Sunrise, Sunset, Waimea Canyon, etc. He’s easy going and wants to make sure that you get what you want from your Kauai adventure!!! “

“We have been going to Kauai for 18 years and have explored much of the island. I happened to see a sidewalk stand advertising a photo safari and that intrigued me. I stopped by and met Denis on Monday. He is a delightful and charming fellow from New Zealand. I booked a sunrise 5 hour safari for Wednesday with a fallback of Friday in case it rained.

Wednesday morning at 5:30 am Denis picked us up (my wife decided to tag along) and we drove out to Lydgate Beach. I had forgotten my tripod so he loaned me his and we talked about different angles, and locations to get a good sunrise shot. Then it began to sprinkle and turned into a full on rain. Disappointed, but still having had a great experience with Denis as he talked about the history of Kauai and his own background in Forensic Photography and compared places we have lived. We set up for a follow up on Friday morning.

I had a problem with my camera in setting a default aperture and while we were exploring Kauai, Denis had text me a solution to the problem for me to try for our Friday session. And it worked.” – WFLAZ

“Friday morning arrived and when Denis picked us up I said rain or shine, lets make the day of it and we can find places to shoot. But the weather was cooperative, and as the sun rose creating a beautiful sunrise, Denis was always pointing out options on where the sun was reflecting and driftwood that was radiating with the early morning light. He then drove us around to several places on the east side that in 18 years we had never visited. He also shared the history about the locations we visited and again made suggestions on photos that I might want to take. 5 hours blew by in a wink of an eye and I wished I had booked the day. Instead I reflected on what a joy it was to spend this morning with Denis who is a wonderful human being in addition to his artistic ability with a camera. My wife thoroughly enjoyed it to not only for the scenery and locations, but the historical insight. I am already looking forward to our next vacation to the Garden Isle to book another safari with Denis. Next time I will do Sunsets with the west coast and Waimea.”

“We booked a combined family photo shoot along with an individual photography lesson for my son. We could not have been happier. During our family photo shoot an unexpected, but typical down pour came along. My wife and two daughters were drenched and thought the day was ruined. Dennis quickly calmed them down and told them to go back to the hotel and change, after which he continued the photo shoot. He even continued the photo shoot on the following day. Dennis also provided my son with some great photography tips. Our family photos came out great! Dennis’ attention to detail is superb!!
